Andrew G. Anton, SSGT
Tail gunner on a B-26 Martin Marauder. Flew 10 missions in battles/campaigns in the PO valley, Normandy, Ardennes, Central Europe. Shot down on February 10th, 1945 on a mission to bomb Cologne, Germany. Planes name was "Smokey". It was the same plane he flew his first and last mission in. Successfully bailed out and made his way back to England via France. Also flew with the 12th Air Force briefly but I have no information on that. Served with the 386th Bomb Group. Wore his unit patch until the day he passed away at the Minneapolis VA hospital.
